26A – Celebrating Failure

1) I'm not sure if this was a failure. I feel so hard when I record my first elevator pitch for this class because I'm not good at giving a speech. I almost gave up that assignment, but I finally make it even though I try it for more than 20 times. I feel like I need to challenge myself to do something I'm afraid to do, and I think I improve my presentation skills by doing that.

2) What I learned from it is that don't easily give up any difficulty you met. You can somehow learn something you cannot expect in the beginning by trying to solve those difficulties.

3) Failure is something we don't want to have at all. However, failures help us to find the weakness we have and to overcome and improve that weakness. How I handle the failure is that I try to encourage myself when I failed. I usually find a quiet place and calm down. Then, I think about the reason why I failed, what I learned from it, and how I avoid the same type of failure in the future.

  1. Aobo,

Well done! Like you, I believe that failure is a valuable tool that can help us become better at what we are trying to accomplish. I think that you have a good strategy in the sense that when you do fail, you calm down and encourage yourself, as well as think about what you could do better next time. Learning from mistakes to avoid the same type of failure in the future is important! Nice job
