21A – Reading Reflection No. 2

Innovation and Entrepreneurship, Peter Drucker

1) What was the general theme or argument of the book?

Just like the title of this book, the general theme is all about innovation and entrepreneurship. It explains and analyzes different opportunities and challenges for the entrepreneurial economy in the U.S.

2) How did the book, in your opinion, connect with and enhance what you are learning in ENT 3003?

In my opinion, this book definitely connects with and enhance what I learned in this class. So far, I learned a lot about entrepreneurship, and I can find something is same or similar to the principle I learned in this class.

3) If you had to design an exercise for this class, based on the book you read, what would that exercise involve?

The exercise should involve the connection between innovation and entrepreneurship. This book was written based on the principles, so it is important for students in this class to understand different principles the author used in this book.

4) What was your biggest surprise or 'aha' moment when reading the book? In other words, what did you learn that differed most from your expectations?

The most difference from my expectations and the biggest surprise is that although this book was written in the 80s, the principles and the theme are still great enough for today.

  1. Aobo,

Well done! I liked your biggest surprise moment when reading the book in the sense that the principles that were great back then are still great today. I think that sometimes people get too caught up in everything going on today, while forgetting they can still be very successful like people of ages were. Sounds like an interesting read!

  2. Hey Aobo

You did a great job in summarizing what your book was about and therefore this was another great post. I also feel like that this book directly connects with this class and therefore you probably learned many key points that could help you be successful in this class. All in all great post and keep up the good work.

  3. Aobo,

Usually a book that is written in the 1980's will not be useful, since ideas and principles change. However, if the book is still useful today, then it is a unique one. As challenging as the economy is, we have come to more debts and disasters. The book clearly shows a way to manage this class and to be successful in this class. Great post.
